Two girls gone fishing! We traded successful careers in software and human resources for the opportunity to own our own business. Why food? We love to eat. Why fish? Easy, there wasn’t a fish market in the north end at the time. In the small predominantly Italian neighborhood where food is taken very seriously it was the only missing piece. When we found out that the tiny produce store that we loved to frequent was closing a light bulb went on and the North End Fish Market was open for business a year later.
We must admit that buying and selling fish presented a learning curve so we did our research, found some amazing vendors and decided to take the mystery out of buying and cooking fish for our customers. Come in and see why our little mercato del mare (market of the sea) is not your typical fish market!
